The Primal Throwdown is the ultimate test of fitness for anyone in Western Australia; an annual competition that is open to anyone of any fitness level.
What is The Primal Throwdown?
The Primal Throwdown started in 2009 as the celebration of Southern CrossFit's opening anniversary.
The Primal Throwdown is the ultimate test of fitness for anyone in Western Australia, an annual competition and open to anyone of any fitness level.
The Primal Throwdown is a multi-day, multi-event competition to determine the Fittest Man & Woman in Western Australia. The competition has six categories of athletes, all of which compete at the same time; Men's Rx'd (advanced), intermediate & beginner and Women's Rx'd (advanced), intermediate & beginner. ALL NEW MASTERS category!
Every year The Primal Throwdown has grown and improved. Fast forward to 2017 and the event is seen by many as the premier CrossFit event held in West Australia.
What are the workouts?
Each year the workouts change and the details are often not announced until the event itself. This means that all year long the athletes are training for a competition whose format is almost completely a mystery.
We believe in continually training for 'the unknown & unknowable'.

What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is an evidence-based fitness program. We define fitness as increased work capacity across broad time and modal domains. Capacity is the ability to do real work, which should be measurable. Life is unpredictable (much more so than sport), so real world fitness must be broad and not specialized. Our workouts are designed to maximize this broad, inclusive fitness. For more information, see our Theory of CrossFit.
